314
One of the largest aircraft for its time, the Boeing 314 was a long range flying boat. Pan American had requested a flying boat with a range longer than that of its Martin M-130 flying boats. The first flight was on 7 June 1938. The 314's were purchased by the military at the start of World War 2. They were given the military designation of C-98.
